Welcome to the Practice

The doctors who make up the practice of Dr Mitchell & Partners look after the patients of Spinney Brook Medical Centre and Woodford Medical Centre. As well as serving those patients residing in Irthlingborough, the practice also covers the rural areas of Woodford, Little Addington and Great Addington with a Dispensing Surgery at Woodford. Both our medical centres are purpose-built, modern, airy buildings, in which we are able to offer a high standard of medical care in a friendly and professional manner. You can help us to achieve our aim by browsing this website, which contains useful information on how to get the best from your surgery.

Children's Safety

Parents please note: It is very dangerous for children to play around the medical centres, especially the car parks.

Security

For security purposes some parts of the building (not consulting rooms) are covered by CCTV.

NHS England

The area served by Dr Mitchell and Partners is in the district covered by NHS England, the body responsible for Commissioning and ensuring you receive many of the health services you need. Details here.

SPINNEY BROOK AND WOODFORD MEDICAL CENTRE COVID-19 UPDATE MAY 2021

We would like to thank all of our patients for their continued support during the COVID-19 Pandemic and to remind you that, whilst the current restrictions are under constant review by the Government, Practices are still advised to continue to work under strict infection control measures to minimise any risk to patients and staff. We are continuing to prioritise the delivery of care and services based on clinical needs. Please continue to only visit Practice Reception Area if you have an urgent need which cannot be dealt with over the phone or you have a confirmed face to face appointment.

If you need medical advice or treatment, please ring us on 01933 650593 (our opening hours are 08.00 – 18.30) or, for non-urgent advice or treatment, visit our website and send us your query. Online consultation requests for non-urgent help can be made at any time. They will be responded to as soon as possible, usually within two working days. Please be assured that Face-to-Face appointments with a nurse or GP are available to all patients where there is a clinical need.

When you phone or go online, you will be asked to provide some information about your healthcare need. This will help the practice healthcare team assess the most appropriate way to provide your care and ensure care is provided by the most appropriate person. For example if you have a musculoskeletal problem you can be referred directly by our Admin Team to ‘First Contact Physio’. Alternatively, visit the local pharmacy for clinical advice on minor health concerns. If you have Mental Health issues you can contact the Mental Health Hub directly on 0800 448 0828 without having to contact the surgery first. This is a 24 hour per day, 7 days per week service. For urgent issues or out of hours, you can also call the NHS on 111 or go online to seek NHS advice 111.nhs.uk

Appointments are being delivered face-to-face, by telephone, or using video calls and messaging to your mobile or computer – the Practice team will assess what is most appropriate for you. If you have a preference about how to access care you can discuss it with us.

If you feel you need a Home Visit please try to call the Practice before 11.00am to give the GP time to assess your clinical needs and arrange for a healthcare professional to visit you at home if appropriate.

Attending a face-to-face appointment - If you are asked to come into the surgery for a face-to-face appointment, please remember to wear a face covering. Measures are in place to keep you safe from infection during your visit to the surgery. If you have a disability or condition which means you cannot wear a face covering or communicating with someone who is wearing personal protective equipment or face mask, or you need to make any other adjustments before your appointment, please let the surgery know ahead of your arrival.

Thank you again for your support, understanding and co-operation. Please stay safe and observe Government guidelines to help us protect our community
